Personal website
M. Luz Celaya is Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) in Applied Linguistics in the Modern Languages and Literatures and English Studies Department at the University of Barcelona. Her research interests are crosslinguistic influence (the topic of her PhD dissertation back in 1991), the use of the L1 in the foreign language classroom and, in relation to the age factor, the development of written production in EFL; finally, she is also interested in the syntactic development of multilingual learners. She has been a full member of the GRAL research team since it was created. She has coordinated both the PhD program and the Masters in "Applied Linguistics and Language Acquisition in Multilingual Contexts" (2004-2008) and is now involved in the implementation of the Degree in English Studies under the new European framework.
