Bachelor's degree in English Philology (Universitat de Barcelona, 1987), MEd in TESOL (Teacher's College, Columbia University, 1989), PhD in English Linguistics (Universitat de Barcelona, 1994).
Elsa Tragant is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics at the University of Barcelona and the coordinator of the Applied Linguistics PhD program. She is a member of the Language Acquisition Research Group (GRAL) since its beginnings in 1995. She has participated in a number of competitive research projects funded mostly by the Spanish government, but also by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the European Comission and RecerCaixa. She has also collaborated with a number of educational institutions as a consultant.
